Abstract: | The purpose of the study was to compare the selected psychological variables among the different classes of physically challenged swimmers. The study consists of 4 phases: The first one was concerned with the establishment of content validity of the questionnaires of Will to Win, Mental Toughness and Competitive State Anxiety, the second phase of the study was concerned with the establishment of Reliability of the questionnaires of Will to Win, Mental Toughness and Competitive State Anxiety, the third phase of the study was concerned with the establishment of the internal consistency of scores for CSAI 2 with the help of statistical technique Cronbachquots alpha and the fourth phase was concerned with the application of Analysis of Variance for the analysis of data. Total 150 physically challenged swimmers were chosen for the study (30 from each class). Total five classes of physically challenged swimmers were taken for the study (S6, S7, S8,S9 and S10). The variables chosen for study were Will to Win, Mental Toughness and Sports Competitive anxiety. For measuring the will to win, will to win questionnaire given by Pezer.V. and Brown.M., 1980 was used, for measuring Mental toughness, Mental toughness questionnaire given by Alan Goldberg, 2004 was used and for measuring Competitive state anxiety CSAI-2 given by Rainer Martens,1990 was used. Finally all the data collected was analyzed to draw a conclusion with regard to the hypothesis. To compare the difference between the different classes of physically challenged swimmers One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used as a statistical technique. newline |
