Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of devices/things that can exchange data. IoT helps in control and performance and improves the transparency of a system. IoT finds its applications across almost all possible industries depending on the need and user imagination. This is one of the major reasons why IoT has become such a sensation today. However, implementing IoT has its inherent challenges. Some of the key challenges in implementing IoT include scalability, security, privacy, interoperability, storage, and regularization. Addressing each of these challenges is important to realize an IoT world. Interoperability is one of major technical challenge in realizing IoT. The term interoperability defines the ability of different systems to communicate/exchange information and act on the exchanged data seamlessly. One major interoperability in the world of IoT is the application interoperability. IoT application interoperability helps in allowing different applications to communicate with different heterogeneous devices having different sensors and actuators. Application interoperability helps in monitoring, control, syndication and discovery aspects of an application. The research work proposes a methodology for adaptation of web services for applications interoperability in the IoT domain. Three protocols Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), Representational State Transfer protocol (REST) and Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) are considered for realization of application interoperability in IoT. newline
