Zone based intrusion detection is the most supporting protection mechanism for mobile ad hoc environment having large volume of distributed number of nodes. Developing a more efficient intrusion detection system in MANET can ensure the successful transmission of data packets without any loss or corruption. In the existing system, zone based intrusion detection system has been developed which possess good detection rates and minimized false alarm rates. However, the existing research method failed to protect the zone leaders that perform intrusion activities in case if compromised by hackers. In the first research work, EAACK based intrusion detection is performed. The idea of coupling the EAACK scheme with local IDS agents and inter zone nodes is to enhance the performance of IDS response by reducing the number of false alarms generated. As the focus lies on routing, there are heavy chances where the packets during their transit fail to acknowledge the source node or the intermediate nodes due to mobility or congestion. This act may also be due to the lack of cooperation among nodes. In such circumstance, the absence of acknowledgement or packet is mistaken as a sign of misbehaving or intrusion by the IDS. Hence by applying EAACK scheme, our proposed ZBIDS can deliver even better IDS responses from intra zone and inter zone point of view. newline
