Abstract: Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANETS) is a field of communication operation in an extremely unpredictable and dynamic environment. Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETS) are self-organized by a collection of mobile nodes interconnected by multi-hop wireless paths. The communication between the nodes is of peer to peer fashion. Because of their ease deployment, these networks are gaining more popularity in recent years. In ad hoc networks, because of mobility, power constraints and bandwidth limitation, establishing and maintaining multi-hop secured routing become a great challenge. In spite of the existence of a well-known security mechanism, additional vulnerabilities and features pertinent to this networking paradigm might render such traditional solutions inapplicable. In MANETS, any node that may be compromised will disrupt the route discovery process. To achieve high protection and desirable network performance, routing security is important. All nodes are capable of movement and can be connected dynamically in an arbitrary manner. MANETS have various issues to be addressed. Among them, three issues have been chosen for exploration as part of this research work. They are (i) Biometric Authentication, (ii) Routing and (iii) Attacks. From the literature survey, the following problems are identified for the research. i) The probability of the security breach is higher when unimodal authentication is implemented. ii) More than two mode states are not considered for routing. In this research work, in order to eliminate or reduce different types of attacks and security vulnerabilities, the new secure routing protocolMultimodal Continuous Authentication (MCA) and Multimodal Continuous Authentication Tunnel mode (MCAT) for MANETS is designed. It also provides security for the routing protocol in MANETS. The proposed solutions are tested using NS2 simulator newline
