dc.description.abstract | The primary role is of mutual funds to help investors, in earning an income investors financial wealth, by participating in the opportunities available in various securities and markets. Mutual fund investor always find choosing funds challenging as it requires sufficient investment study and approach. Decisions of investors would be based on past fund performances and many of the mutual funds yield high returns, based on professional fund managers ability of handling stock market investments, even during fluctuating markets. Professionals are evaluated on the basis of past performances. Various studies have been carried out in India and abroad, to evaluate the performance of mutual funds schemes, from time to time. An attempt has been made in this study to review the past studies relating to four different dimensions, such as investors behaviour, their risk tolerance and attitudes, fund selection behaviour and investor behaviour, as reported by experts, professionals and researchers at national and international level. Based on reviews, the problem was identified as, Are cumulative factors of mutual funds influencing investors perception towards mutual funds, with special reference to Madurai District .
