Abstract: newlineThe present thesis entitled Asymmetric Organocatalysis: Synthesis of Camphor newlineDerived Thiourea Catalysts, their Application and Construction of Optically Pure newlineSpiro[cyclohexanone-oxindole] Derivatives describes the synthesis of novel camphor newlinederived thioureas, camphor derived thiourea catalyzed enantioselective and#945;- newlineaminophosphonates by one pot synthesis and the synthesis of highly functionalized chiral newlinespirocyclic compounds using asymmetric [4+2] cycloaddition reaction. In all sections, a newlinebrief introduction is provided to keep the present work in proper perspective. The compounds newlineare sequentially numbered (bold) and references are marked sequentially as superscript and newlinelisted at the end of each chapter. All the figures included in the thesis were obtained by newlineDIRECT PHOTOCOPY OF THE ORIGINAL SPECTRA, and in some of them uninformative newlineareas have been cut to save the space.
