Abstract: | The Internet of Things IoT is an emerging field in modern day living This technology cuts across many areas of applications such as smart home smart cities smart grid smart health industrial internet smart wearable device and smart agriculture The performance of the entire IoT system depends upon the IoT nodes which make up the network The IoT nodes are known for their compact System on Chip SoC limited battery capacity and good accuracy Several issues need to be addressed for IoT nodes such as accurate data sensing and fast data rate transmission The Analog to Digital Converter ADC is one of the main building blocks in IoT nodes The ADC for IoT nodes are used to digitize analog sensor information for signal processing storage and also for data transmission The Successive Approximation Register based SAR ADC is a popular architecture for IoT nodes due to their energy efficiency and compact size as most o1 the IoT nodes are battery operated Once things have deployed IoT nodes need to work unattended and transmit the all gathered information to the IoT cloud directly or through the gateways in the network newline newline newline |
