Abstract: | Nowadays due to increasing the demand of wireless Adhoc Communications in many applications has directed a great deal of analysis and optimal design of networks. Wireless Adhoc network consist a set of autonomous nodes with the characteristics of node mobility, dynamic topology, self healing and limited resources which are controlled, configured and organized in an independent manner without any centralized control or access point. Each node can act as router to route the data and forming the path. Congestion occurs when the load of the network exceeds the available capacity of the network. Congestion present in the network degrades the performance of the network. Most of the existing congestion control solutions do not have the ability to distinguish between packet loss due to link collapse and packet loss due to congestion. The other limitation in most of the available way out is the utilization of energy and resources to detect congestion state, degree of congestion and alert the source node about blocking in routing path in order to avoid the sending rate of packet. Hence Energy Efficient Congestion Control along with Modified AODV routing is preferred to improve the network performance. In wired network congestion control algorithm is implemented in transport layer. But these algorithms can t be applied to wireless networks due to limited resources, power constraints, frequent route failure due to node mobility and limited queue size. The main problem in using layering concept is interoperability, lack of coordination. newline |
