A teacher role lies in his potentialities that enhance his role structure. This means the role structure of teachers depends on their assumption component. According to Christopher Evans (2015); the current scenario poses a demand on teachers to connect their teaching and learning with changing demands by playing flexible roles. Working on the same ground Drossel and Eickelmann (2015); advocated that the role of teacher must be studied in relation to new technologies and new competencies which make the teacher more competent. Keeping this in mind, the undertaken research was planned to study, Role structure and Life Skills of teachers in degree colleges of Punjab and Haryana. They were studied by recognizing dimensions under them. As such, 6 dimensions were identified for role structure namely; professional commitment, professional aspiration and achievement, teacher as an extension worker, teacher as a mentor, coping with diversity and continuous professional development and similarly for life skills viz; communication skills, computer savvy skills, critical thinking skills, coping with stress, interpersonal skills and self-awareness skills. The data was collected from 500-degree college teachers by self-prepared questionnaire. The comparison between the teachers was made based on; gender, faculty and territory which varied at 2, 3 and 2 levels. ANOVA, tratios, correlations were calculated to draw comparisons. The research findings of the study witnessed that; female teachers from Punjab scoredand#61654; significantly higher on role structure and life skills dimensions when compared with male teachers of Punjab and Haryana degree colleges. newline
