Narcoterrorism is combination of two words i.e. narcoticsand#8223; and terrorismand#8223;. The concept of narcoterrorism was introduced in 1983 by the Peruvian President Belaunde Terry to designate terrorist-like attacks against his countryand#8223;s drug enforcement police. Narcoterrorism poses a major threat for both international and national security and stability. It is worldwide threat and knows no territorial boundaries. Therefore, all the countries are prone to narcoterrorism in one or other way. Countries which have political instability, low economic growth, porous borders, no proper banking system and poverty are more prone to narcoterrorism. Threats associated with this menace effect every aspect of life be it social, economic, political, physical, environmental and health. As per International Narcotics Control Strategy Report (INCSR) 2018, Under Foreign Assistance Act, India is in the list of countries that are identified as major drug transit or major illicit drug producing countries. Although various steps and policies are initiated all over the world yet they are not enough. Moreover, there are different policies for narcotics and terrorist activities but they are all futile exercise. It could be fruitful if both are tackled together. newline
