The present study aimed to investigate the delinquency proneness among adolescents in relation to perceived parenting style, emotional maturity and demographic variables (gender, type of school and location of school) on a sample of 1000 students of class XI from Government and Private schools in different districts of Punjab state. The findings of the study revealed that the adolescents perceiving authoritarian parenting style and laissez-faire parenting style were more prone to delinquency as compared to adolescents perceiving democratic parenting style. Significant difference in delinquency proneness was found between adolescent boys and girls, i.e. boys found to be more prone towards delinquency. Adolescents studying in Private schools were found to be more prone to delinquency. No delinquency proneness was found in emotionally mature adolescents. The findings of the present study would be helpful for parents, teachers, counselors, psychologists, educationists, researchers and social workers etc. newline
