Abstract: | The immensely developing technologies in multimedia and networking along with extremely advanced research in Electronics and Communication domain has given birth to smart devices. These smart devices have become the backbone of network communication. Affordable nature of such smart devices has drastically increased the consumers of advanced technology in the recent years. Each smart device has an in-built multimedia processing system with a high resolution display, since most of these devices are used for entertainment purpose. Expectations of consumers in different sectors of video communication such as video calling, mobile gaming, e-learning and movie streaming are being met by the unending research findings in the area of video multicasting. Video multicast is the perfect communion between the sky rocketing users and enormous delivery of heterogeneous video content. Heterogeneous multimedia video content includes different formats of resolutions such as Standard Definition(SD), High Definition(HD), Ultra High Definition(UHD) such as 4K and 8K video and three dimensional video(3D). Video multicasting phenomena plays a pivotal role in transmitting and receiving, large volumes of video content in the congested network by using a secured topology. For the enhancement of the video multicast protocol, the network elements have to assist the incoming multimedia content for effective deliverance. There are different aspects of issues in the network, such as memory utilization, resource allocation, energy efficiency and visual quality which have to be addressed while developing the enhanced protocol. Scheduling, addressing, routing can be enhanced if the network has the adequate knowledge about resource allocation. newline |
