| Abstract: | Background: Interpersonal psychotherapy is a useful psychosocial intervention newlinefor mental health nursing practice; however, there is no discussion on of its newlineinclusion in nursing curriculum. newlineObjective: The present study was aimed to assess the effectiveness of IPT newlinetraining on competency of student nurses regarding the administration of IPT. newlineMethods: The one group pre-test post-test study was conducted on 100 student newlinenurses from four nursing colleges. An IPT training module for nurses was newlinedeveloped. One-week training on IPT was given in four groups of 25 students newlineselected through two-stage cluster sampling. Perceived IPT competency, newlineKnowledge regarding IPT and IPT competencies of the participants were assessed newlinebefore and after the IPT training.
