The body sensor network in the form of wearable devices for sports application is attempted in this thesis. Wireless communication techniques are having certain drawbacks in the energy cost, delay, throughput and packet delivery ratio. Various MAC protocols were reviewed such as the CSMA, CDMA, and FDMA which resulted in less network performance. Now, by using the traditional TDMA the network reliability was 60% and by using dynamic TDMA it was 90%. Therefore, there is a loss of 40% and 10% respectively in the link reliability of the network. Therefore, a Polling TDMA and the self-calibration algorithm were proposed to increase the reliability of the network. The energy consumption using CDMA technique is more for transmission and reception of the data. Hence, a clustering TDMA was proposed to reduce the energy consumption. Also, a symmetric TDMA algorithm was proposed to find the symmetry between the left and right of the wireless body area network. An efficient polling TDMA algorithm was proposed, in this work, all the nodes communicate with hub at different time intervals to ensure the optimal utilization of the coordinator by all the connecting nodes. The proposed BSN setup will have one central node placed on the chest of a human body that will act as a hub in coordinating with other nodes. The hub will connect to the two sets of nodes fixed respectively on the legs and wrists. BSN will determine the link performance between the nodes. By using Polling TDMA algorithms, it is very effective in reducing data losses and also it has better throughput, less delay, and better synchronization. The Polling TDMA algorithms proved that the packet delivery ratio was 97%, which has improved from traditional TDMA technique newline
