Dimensions of parliamentary democracy in India legal issues and challenges

Abstract

Parliamentary Democracy was adopted to secure social, economic and political justice to citizens in India. But Legislature and Executive could not achieve desired ideals due to their preferences based upon political functioning and Judiciary delivered discretionary remedies. Consequently, citizenand#8223;s interest became passive in democratic process. The government needs to encourage citizenand#8223;s participation in decision making process by ensuring efficiency of NOTA, Right to Recall, election manifesto as binding document. And citizens with impeccable antecedents should be allowed to hold constitutional office. newline
