Abstract: In todayand#8223;s digital world, the exchange of information outside the usual wired office network becomes more popular. The explosive reputation of handheld devices and the wireless technology lead to tremendous appreciation of the Mobile Adhoc Networks. A mobile adhoc network which doesnand#8223;t make use of wires and base station and it is a collection of independent battery operated devices that are interconnected in an on demand manner. The mobile devices in MANET are typically run on battery power whose life time is too short. It is a challenging task to replace or recharge the batteries in battlefield, natural disaster areas and etc. The mobility of nodes in military applications is changing quite often as the communication paths are refreshed every time and prompts to excessive energy consumption of nodes. MANET nodes are moving at random and cause the network topology to change accordingly. So it is more difficult to make the devices too big to carry big size batteries. Communication is one of the main sources of energy consumption. The MANET devices run on limited battery energy. Moreover, the devices in the MANET have to play the dual role of a host (sender or receiver) and a router (intermediate node to forward packets of other nodes) that causes heavy battery drainage. The battery energy is consumed when a node sends packet or receives a packet. The battery energy is also lost a little bit when the node sits idle or the node is in sleep mode. The size of the network increases, the number of transmissions also increases. Subsequently the energy gradually disappears, making it dead in a short period newline
