Abstract: The rapid growth of wearable technology has made a great impact in the field of antenna research since antennas are a key component of any wireless communication systems. The massively growing miniaturization of electronic devices along with enormous progress in wearable computer technology, are leading to the production of components and devices that can be carried by eople in their pockets or even be attached. Textile antennas are essential components in smart fabrics and interactive textile systems. They implement sensing, localization, and wireless communication functionality while being unobtrusively and comfortably integrated inside garments. As a type of wearable antenna, the textile antenna is gaining more attention recently due to its wide range of applications. Textile antennas are typically embedded into clothes for wireless applications such as Wireless Body Area Networks (WBAN) for healthcare i.e. medical monitoring and RFID. For the design and the implementation of a textile antenna has four aspects that need to be addressed. Of foremost importance is the antenna working as the intended radiator when worn as part of clothing and close to the human body. The textile antenna typically consists of two metal layers, with the top layer as the radiating element and the bottom layer as the ground. Between the two metal layers is the substrate consisting of a dielectric material. The main aim of this dissertation is to deal with the above-mentioned aspects of textile antenna design. The reflector based textile antenna is reported as the right candidate for backlobe reduction and gain enhancement of industrial, scientific and medical band. The key objective of this research work is to propose a class of Textile antenna with single-band capabilities by altering the physical dimension of the antenna and varying the design of antenna wireless applications newline
