Using the stir cast method the aluminium hybrid composites were fabricated by reinforcing B4C with varying concentration between 3 6 and 9 by weight and maintaining concentration of BN constant at 3 wt Using optical microscopy method the microstructure of the synthesized aluminium hybrid composites was studied in detail Scanning Electron Microscope SEM has been used to study the morphological features of the synthesized composites To evaluate the hardness of hybrid composites the Vickers micro hardness test has been carried out It has been found that the increasing in the percentage of B4C reinforcement with the increasing the hardness of the synthesized composites compared with the A17075 base matrix alloy The compressive strength and tensile strength have been relatively increased with increasing reinforcing particles for all hybrid composite specimens than the other specimens The tensile and compressive tests inferred that the inclusion of reinforcements B4C and BN to base metal matrix tends to resist the external force and support the composites for better performance To investigate the wear properties of hybrid composites the wear test conducted under dry sliding condition with Pin on disc wear tester Wear behaviour exhibited by the synthesised composites was studied under sliding distance of 1000 m with varying normal loads and sliding speeds newline
