Abstract: | This research expresses the design and the implementation of compact slot less Permanent Magnet Brush Less Direct Current PMBLDC motor with halbach array to obtain elevated torque in the moderate speed region and to be used in various defence applications Slot less technology gives zero cogging in the developed machine and the halbach array pattern has been developed with the help of Permanent Magnet PM It plays a vital role to keep the magnetic flux in any one side of the rotor and it also produces maximum flux to achieve elevated torque Further the intention of this research is to minimize development expenses size of the machine and to improve the quality of machine functions Design parameters like diameter length Poles Magnets Slots and conductors have been discussed and the optimum critical parameters like speed torque current and back Electro Motive Force EMF have been extracted for slot less PMBLDC motor without cogging Especially the designed magnitudes of magnetic flux densities of the motor have been verified by the analytical calculations for real time functioning conditions Initially the prototype model has been developed for low power and low torque ratings The suitable design parameters like Poles and Slots with respect to diameter and length are calculated by various iterations The required speed and the torque are achieved by using suitable Poles and slots Moreover the various performance characteristics like speed and torque under no load and load conditions are analyzed The expected speed and the torque are achieved in the prototype machine newline |
