Abstract: This study titled Relationship between Men and Women: A Study of Social newlineRealism in the Novels of Jane Austen aims to portray the relationships between men newlineand women, taking into account the textual analysis of Austen s six novels wherein newlinecharacters, plot and themes have been studied. The purpose of writing this thesis is newlinenot merely recreational, instructive or educational but also deeply connected to the newlinesocial context in which the lives of the millions who are unable to voice for newlinethemselves, their suffering and their pain, and the conditions in which they live and newlinedie had been touched. newlineThe primary objective of this proposed study is the social relations newlinebetween men and women and how the human relation forms an integral part of family newlinelife, which plays an important role to understand the whole global society at large. newlineThis textual knowledge imparts information to understand the events of the novel newlinebetter but it also help to make text related to world connections. This thesis hopes to newlinedemonstrate various intricacies in the human relations and find ways to have solution newlinefor peace and harmony in the family which in turn bring reformation and newlinetransformation at global level. It unfolds the mysteries and apprehensions of life and newlinealso to understand the gaps and bridges between old and the new society and how the newlinelife of people elsewhere in the globe is different or similar in minds, modes and newlinemanners from today s contemporary life. This research contributes something useful newlinefor society as Jane Austen attracted wide attention throughout the globe as a writer of newlinepeople and finds a solution for better human relationships to understand the pros and newlinecons of good and bad relationship by studying the prominent author like Jane Austen, newlineand to study the transitional phase and changes in English society and relating it to newlineIndian minds and ethos. newlineThe Study of Jane Austen in the light of men women relationship and newlinesocial realism is based on the assumption that literature is a social product in which newlinethe society is minutely observed
