Abstract: | ABSTRACT newlineThis research work will focus on various endeavours and activities of the Muslims of newlineNorth Bengal and show how they tried to develop their own community and also other newlinecommunities at large, in respect of society, economy and cultural aspects during the newlinecolonial phase. The Dissertation gives special emphasis on Malda District; since, newlineMalda is a district where the Muslim population is significantly quite noticeable in newlinecomparison with other districts of North Bengal. To understand the topic of this newlineresearch work it has been divided into eight Chapters viz. I) Introduction: Classification newlineof Muslims in North Bengal, II) Review of Literature, III) Role of Muslims in the newlineDevelopment of Education and Literature, IV) Some Economic Aspects of North newlineBengal Muslims, V) Contribution in Cultural Field: Development of Association and newlinethe Press, VI) Role of Muslims in the Field of Sports, VII) Overview of the Role of newlineMuslims in Communal Harmony, VIII) Findings, Conclusions, Recommendations. newlineIn the first chapter we have presented the introductory discussion regarding our thesis. newlineAlongside we have narrated the different social divisions of the Muslims and have newlinethrown light on how the Muslim society became change after migration which was seen newlinein almost every district in the areas of our discussion. In connection with this, we have newlinealso focus on their different languages and discriminations which were among all newlinegroups. In their society there were descendents of foreigners and indigenous people. newlineFor the converted Muslims there were emerged a mixed culture. newlineThe literature review always helps so much to critically analyze the related work to newlineenrich a good research work. It also helps to understand that what works have already newlinebeen done, what has remain untouched, what theories have already been used in the newlineprocess of writing and what are not being implemented for valuable research work. The newlinereview of literature helps to identify the research gaps so that the researcher could newlineeasily create a frame work |
