Abstract: The problem of child labour is a universal phenomenon. Child labour is one of the prominent social evil which is prevailing in India. The situation of child labourer in India is extremely miserable. Children work for eight hours and having only small breaks for the meals. These circumstances are showing repercussions on health and development of children. The Constitution of India clearly states that child labour is evil and strict measures should be taken against it. The government of India has formulated, child labour act 1986. To ascertain the role the United Nation Organization (UNO), International Labour Organization (ILO) and others International agencies are performing various rules regarding child labour. newline Now these days, industrialised economies have decreased to great extent. This has influenced the employment of children. Still, child labour is prevailing. But the developing countries are encountering problems like child labour. There are lot of working children in India. Restricted work opportunities and prevailing poverty situations compel the children to work in small age. Most of the families live below the poverty line suffer from alienation, illiteracy, malnutrition, inferiority, social evils and pessimism. The parents from these deprived groups not only send their children to work but also deprive them from healthy social environment for their holistic growth. newline newline
