Abstract: In the current research Al, La and Ni substituted M type Ca hexaferrite were synthesized by sol gel auto combustion method. The prepared samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, FTIR and VSM. X-ray diffraction analysis confirms the phase composition of prepared samples and reveals that all the samples belong to M type hexaferrite. FTIR spectra also strengthen the confirmation. The crystallite size was determined by the Debye Scherrer formula and W-H Plot analysis method. Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy analysis confirms the homogeneous distribution of element in all the samples. The changes in magnetic parameters will make Ni substituted Ca hexaferrite suitable for data storage and re-recordable memory devices, while Al and La substituted Ca hexaferrite will suitable for application in recording medium. newline newline newline newline
