In the technological era, the primary source of information is in the form of digital data, which has to be secured against eavesdroppers while storing or transmitting during communication over an unsecured network. In the security domain, various approaches such as cryptography, watermarking, and steganography are used to provide security to digital data. The proposed research work expresses steganographybased security systems includes text, image, audio, and video-based steganography. Mainly, the video steganography over the uncompressed and compressed domain is explained comprehensively. The central focal point of the proposed work is the video steganography in the compressed domain, in which an RGB compressed video is used as a cover object. In contrast, the RGB color image is used as a secret message. newlineThe proposed research work is presenting video steganography in a compressed domain using various transform coefficients viz. Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT), Discrete Sine Transform (DST) and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). The transform coefficients of the non-dynamic and motion Region of Interest (ROI) of the secret cover video frame are used as a cover object to conceal the secret information. The efficiency of proposed video steganography increases by the effective embedding and extracting algorithms, including strong secret keys. The quality of proposed video steganography is evaluated based on the quality assessment parameters viz. imperceptibility measured by mean square error (MSE) and peaksignal- to-noise ratio (PSNR), robustness based on the parameters similarity (Sim), and bit error rate (BER), and the embedding capacity is calculated by hiding ratio (HR). newlineThe proposed method has experimented on a well-defined standard video dataset (Elecard and Remega) and a real-time video dataset. The related work in the field of compressed video steganography is comprehensively elaborated, and their results are compared with the proposed method based on quality assessment parameters.
