Abstract: | The present study has been undertaken in order to enhance the English linguistic skills of the rural learners Despite the efforts taken by the rural learners second language learning continues to be a distant dream The main reason is that the teachers should have some knowledge regarding the affective domain Every teacher should give importance to the learning capability of the student his family background and peer group and must motivate the student positively Hence the researcher has tried to introduce affective teaching methodology for the effective learning of the second language for improving the linguistic skills of the rural learners The first chapter elaborately describes the need to learn English in today s technological world It further explains in detail that as English has become the connecting word in trade commerce and business it is necessary to learn the language It further talks about the existing condition of English in India and the need for the better ways of teaching a second language especially keeping in mind the rural students who are apathetic to the learning of English as a second language The second chapter gives a review of literature regarding the methods and approaches that have been used from time to time over the years and proceeds to define the affective teaching method It also presents a review of the studies already done in ELT in the recent past after the intervention of psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics in the teaching-learning process that paved the way for the birth of the Affective Method of teaching newline |
