Abstract: Stress and tension have become synonyms in the twenty first century where newlinecompetition, consumerism and individualism play a vital role in the modern life. newlineHospital industry is the most critical industry of India and is often marked by the newlineincreased levels of occupational stress. Doctors play a major role to save the human newlinelife. However, doctors are constantly in a situation of critical psychological stress. newlineTheir work profile is full of risk, hassles and a lot of work and performance pressure newlinewhich results in psychological stress and thus, enhances their dissatisfaction with their newlinejobs. The role of doctors is very important in saving the lifes of people, which in turns newlineincreases their stress level owing to the responsibility they have. Therefore, this newlineinspired the researcher to probe reasons and causes of psychological stress and job newlinesatisfaction of doctors (MD and MS) in public and private hospitals. The objective of newlinethis study is to assess the causes of psychological stress and its impact on job newlinesatisfaction among doctors of private and public hospitals in Jaipur (India). This is an newlineexploratory study based on the responses of questionnaire and interviews of doctors of newlineboth types of hospitals in Jaipur city of Rajasthan. The analysis indicates the stress newlinelevels in respect to the age, gender, marital status, residency and designation, income newlineof the respondent doctors. The sample size take for the purposes of the study newlinecomprised of 350 MD and MS doctors of Jaipur. The inventory used is based on 5 newlinepoint likert scale. Using correlation and regression test analysis, Independent-t test newlineand ANNOVA for this purpose SPSS version 22 was used. newline
