Abstract: | The personality is something in ourselves. Every one of us is an unique newlinepattern in ourselves. Every one of us has specific characteris-tics for newlinemaking adjustments. Personality exhibits self-consciousness as one of newlineits main characteristics. Man is described as a person or to have a newlinepersonality when the idea of self entered into his conscious-ness. newlinePersonality includes everything about a person. It is all that a person newlinehas about him. It includes all the behaviour patterns as conative, newlinecognitive and affective and covers not only the conscious activities but newlinegoes deeper to semi-conscious and unconscious also. newlinePersonality is not static, it is dynamic and ever in process of newlinechange and modification. Personality is all that a person has about him. newlineIt gives him all that is needed for his unique adjustment in his newlineenvironment. The process of making adjustment to environment is newlinecontinuous. One has to struggle against the environmental as well as newlinethe inner forces throughout the span of his life. As a result one has to newlinebring modification and change in one s personality patterns and it newlinemakes the nature of personality dynamic instead of a static one. Every newlinepersonality is the product of heredity and environment. Both contribute newlinesignificantly towards the development of the child s personality. newlineThe problem of adjustment has become so vital in our complex newlineand civilized society that Educationists and Psychologists have turned newlinetheir deep interest in understanding it. The problem is a matter of such a newlinewide spread concern that a number of books and journals on this issue newlineare coming up. The complex structure and functioning of our society has newlineproved to be too taxing for individuals adjusting capacities to meet the newlinedemands of the environment. Personality and behaviour disorders are newlineincreasing day by day and have challenged the thought of educationists, newlinepsychologists, psychiatrists and the sociologists.
