Phytochemical and neuropharmacological studies on Hibiscus Sabdariffa linn and Euphorbia Neriifolia linn

Abstract

The present study involved investigating phytochemical and neuropharmacological potential of the Hibiscus sabdariffa and Euphorbia neriifolia. The two plants were subjected to antianxiety/ antidepressant guided fractionation to isolate the bioactive compound(s). Schematic representation of the work done on Hibiscus sabdariffa is illustrated in Figure 64. Comparative anti-anxiety and antidepressant profile of E. neriifolia (leaves/stems) and E. hirta (aerial parts) is also undertaken. Detailed systematic study on E. neriifolia (leaves) is shown and work done on total ash of H. sabdariffa calyces and E. neriifolia leaves is summarized. newline
