Abstract: This thesis maps and culls out dialogues on components of contemporary urban foodscapes and how they interact on multiple scales. The research takes into account multi- directional flows of engagement between human bodies, food and its projections in media. The three case studies examine the textual and visual registers of food consumption in the print and social media; the material act of eating through self-reflection. The nature of inquiry necessitated use of diverse methodologies, identified as the omnivorous methodology. newline
