Abstract: Effective training is considered as an important factor in determining the efficiency of an organization which depends upon the capability of its employees. Training is essential to the growth and economic well-being of a nation. This need for training pervades all levels of industry, for a national level where a country s well-being in enhanced by training, to each company where productivity is improved, down to the individual whose skills are enhanced and as a result improve their position in the workplace. newlineThe chapter one explains the background of study, statement of problem, significance of the studies, and elaborates the analytical framework adopted for conducting the present study. newlineThe chapter two makes an attempt to highlight research methodology, the various dimensions of research approach, sampling plan, area of study, data collection method, statistical tools. newlineThe chapter three attempts to give a brief introduction about literature review related to research area. newlineThe chapter four tries to describe and explore the various important aspects needed for the formation of the training effectiveness program, and also discuss the theoretical concept of training model, training method, types of training. Different types of training provided by NTPCand PGCIL, and also explain the human resource management in NTPCand PGCIL. newlineThe chapter five discusses the detailed history of power sector reforms, evolution of power sector, growth scenario in Indian power sector, introduction about the NATIONAL THERMAL POWER CORPORATION and POWER GRID CORPORATION OF INDIA LIMITED. newlineThe chapter six explains the present study based on the analytical interpretation from the data received from the respondents. newline TRAINING and ITS EFFECTIVENESS AMONG EMPLOYEES OF POWER SECTOR Page vi newlineThe chapter seven reproduces the findings and conclusions and suggestions on the basis of analyzed data of chapter six. newline
