Abstract: Porphyrins are heterocyclic aromatic macromolecule has attracted significant attention among the scientific world due to its versatile structure. Motivated by intriguing physical, chemical and biological properties of porphyrins, the present thesis is an attempt to explore the supramolecular chemistry of metalloporphyrins, particularly using halogen bonding interaction. The comprehensive packing analyses along with supplementary and supporting theoretical investigations showed the role of halogen bonding interaction in stabilizing observed self-assemblies. newline
