The rapidity in the growth of industrial developments explosive growth in the human population together with factors like urbanization and globalization has resulted in tremendous increase in the demand for energy resources As a result there has been greater dependence and unabated degradation of non renewable fossil fuel based energy resources like coal, petroleum products like crude oil natural gas etc The continuous usage of non renewable sources poses serious threat to the environment by contributing to global warming and adversely affecting the quality of life in earth Recently there has been a greater interest in developing green energy which are derived from renewable sources Research shows that with the support of an efficient power management and control system renewable energy resources based power generation and distribution can be designed to be more efficient and reliable power system The research interest in the development of renewable energy systems from different sources has been increasing steadily in the recent years because of the huge benefits to the environment Wind energy and solar power generation are the two prominent renewable power generation systems In addition fuel cells technology is also developing as a promising energy resource of the future as it produces low emissions, higher efficiency and flexible structure newline
