Abstract: | The technological growth has been providing automated control and luxurious life to the people. The electronic industry faces lot of challenges in manufacturing new devices with compensating the cost, efficiency and power demand. Nowadays, the new power electronic switching devices are manufactured with higher rating and reduced blocking voltages. The developments in power electronic converters have been very much helpful to control the power flow and satisfying the domestic and industrial needs. The power converter focuses primarily on the inverters to get Alternating Current (AC) supply voltage and directions are given to find new alternatives. The emergence of three phase inverters which give power to meet the required load demand compared with single phase inverters but suffers poor power quality. This constraint paves way to develop a new three phase topologies and its control strategies with primary objective of providing better power quality. This thesis has been formulated by new three phase Multi Level Inverter (MLI) topologies with reduced number of switch counts, lowered conduction losses and very good output voltage spectrum. The philosophy orients towards developing new topologies by clamping of voltage sources to load for bidirectional power flow through bidirectional switches, switching the voltage sources in series/parallel configuration using Multilevel DC-Link inverter. The proposed MLI topologies can be extended to any number of levels newline |
