Abstract: Life on earth persists, even under extremely harsh environmental conditions. Microorganisms that inhabit some of the hostile environments are termed as extremophiles. Studies on extremophiles not only provide insights into the evolutionary adaptation strategies of these organisms but also provide valuable information that can be utilized for industrial applications.Acidophiles are organisms that thrive under extremely low pH conditions. newline
