dc.description.abstract | This research focused on elucidating in-depth molecular mechanisms behind high fat-low protein diet (HFLPD)-induced metabolic syndrome (MetS) and associated cognitive impairments in rat and mouse models. HFLPD and 15% oral fructose led to the development of MetShallmarks along with altered cognitive functions.Furthermore, the administration of dual PPAR-and#945;/and#947; agonists i.e., sesamol and saroglitazar, significantly upregulated peripheral and brain insulin signaling, thereby reversing the HFLPD-induced neurometabolic alterations in animal models. The findings of this work encourage consumption of a balanced diet to reduce the prevalence of metabolism-related diseases and their consequences on other organ systems. newline | |
