A Discriminating Model Analysis of Junior National Basketball Players

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of plyometric training on Basketball players .For the purpose of the study (N=30) of RSA sports academy Delhi were selected as participants. Their age ranged between 16 -18 years. They were randomly divided into two equal groups. The Group- I was considered as Experimental group and group- II was considered as control group. The control group was not given any training and the experimental group was given high intensity plyometric training for three days per week for the period of six weeks. The agility was measured with illionis agility test. Both groups took part in thepretest and posttest. . In order to find out the significant improvement if any, t test was applied.0.05 level of confidence was fixed to test the level of significance. The results indicated the significant effect of Plyometric on vertical jump (plt0.05). In addition, the results revealed that the vertical jump of experimental group was significantly greater than control group (plt0.05). The results showed that the Application of plyometric training can be effective in improving agility of Basketball players. newline newline
