Abstract: newline The thesis is a fusion of theoretical and empirical study on the subordinate court system in a Digital India. The litigant, who pays a good amount of his earnings in attending court hearings, with delayed justice shows a routine failure of Indian legal system to provide inexpensive remedies to aggrieved parties in a timely manner. With these adversities present, it is hard to envisage how the State can carry on with such an underperforming justice delivery system. The present study has been undertaken to critically analyse the e-Courts Mission Mode Project as working in the subordinate judiciary. The study is organised into seven major chapters. The first chapter introduces the thesis; its importance, aims and objectives. The second chapter provides an overview of the court structure, court process and examines its day-to-day operation. Chapter three is built on the discussion of the speedy justice being a fundamental right. Chapter four covers the international experience of electronic justice delivery system. Chapter five looks at the e-courts system in India and provides an overview of it. Chapter six takes the readers through the empirical study undertaken w.r.t. e-Courts MMP. Finally, chapter seven concludes the thesis and suggests the measures to improve the e-courts MMP.
