Abstract: A study was conducted to look into multiple intelligence levels of students newlineopting physical education in higher secondary schools. The main objectives were to newlineprepare a profile of multiple intelligences of higher secondary students opting newlinephysical education and to prepare gender and grade level based profile of multiple newlineintelligences of higher secondary school students opting physical education. The newlinestudy also aimed to study linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, musical, bodily newlinekinesthetic, intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence among higher secondary newlineschool students on the basis of grade level and gender. The sample consisted of total newlinestrength of 535 students from two classes i.e. XI and XII consisting 319 boys and 216 newlinegirls taken from 9 CBSE schools from Ujjain Division. In the first phase of choosing newlinethe sample, these 9 CBSE schools were randomly selected from 80 CBSE schools of newlinefour selected districts of Ujjain Division. Second phase was concerned with the newlineselection of higher secondary school students. From the nine selected schools of newlineUjjain division all the students of XI and XII taking physical education as their newlineoptional subject were selected. So here Purposive Random Sampling method was newlinechosen. Cross-sectional survey was used in the study as it was less time consuming. In newlinethis cross-sectional study it is assumed that the subjects have nearly the same newlinebackground in terms of their parents level of education and socioeconomic status. newlineTeele Inventory of Multiple Intelligences (TIMI) prepared by Sue Teele was used to newlineassess the multiple intelligences levels of students. The Teele Inventory for Multiple newlineIntelligences developed in 1992 is specifically designed to examine the dominant newlineintelligences of students in kindergarten through the twelfth grade, and acts as an newlineindicator as to whether or not students in different grade levels possess different newlineintelligences.
