Abstract: The Summary of the thesis has three parts: the details of chapter outline, conclusions and newlinesuggestions. The details of chapter outline provide a quick view of the contents of the thesis. The newlineconclusions have been presented based on the objectives of the study. The suggestions highlight newlinethe significant issues and give direction for further research. newline1. Details of Chapter Outline newlineInnocence is a positive attribute of life. An innocent person is carefree and creative. Innocence is newlinea virtue which leads to positivity in life. This feature of innocence is present in every human newlinebeing. It is prominent in children but diminishes in the later stages of life. In the absence of newlineinnocence, traits like violence, guilt, malice and badness develop. Innocence in children differs newlinedue to their age, gender, social upbringing, race, media etc. Younger children are more innocent newlinethan teenagers. It s the duty of parents and the society to safeguard the innocence in the children. newlineThe social ills like child labour, racial discrimination, sexual abuse, polluted media, child newlinetrafficking, undue expectations from parents and terrorism are the major factors that affect the newlineinnocence in the children. The present study was undertaken to identify the various constituent newlinefactors of innocence and how these are affected in two age groups of later childhood and newlineadolescence amongst two genders. newlineThe description of the study runs into seven chapters, besides references and appendices. The newlinechapter 1 on Introduction has three sections - Conceptual Framework, Rationale of the Study and newlineObjectives of the Study. The conceptual framework of the study is divided into three sub-sections newlineto understand the concept of innocence. The first sub-section begins by laying down the newlinebackground of innocence. It is followed by the second sub-section which reveals the switching of newlinereactions effortlessly.
