Abstract: Stress is the consequence of failure of an organism, human or animal to newlinerespond appropriately to emotional or physical threats, weather actual or imagined. It newlineis a process by which we perceive and cope with environmental threats and challenges newline(Myers and Health, 2005). The involvement of adolescents in getting instant newlinegratification of needs has led to lot of stress in them and in their relationships with newlinefamily and peers. In this study, stress management and quality of sleep maintenance is newlinehighlighted by the use of mindfulness meditation and tai chi chuan, thus it makes newlinea pleasant as well as effective, non-pharmacological and cost effective intervention newlinefor stress and sleep problems. Researcher got reviews related to mindfulness meditation and anxiety, but no newlinestudy was done earlier to assess the effectiveness of mindfulness meditation on newlineanxiety among visually challenged children. It was really very difficult for the newlineresearcher to find similar studies and related study materials for the review. newlineOn the basis of the findings of the study, the following newlinerecommendations have been made for the further study: newlineA comparative study can be done to assess the awareness regarding stress and newlinesleep problems among adolescents between rural and urban community. newlineThe present study can be conducted as a longitudinal and follow up research newlineof mindfulness and tai chi chuan on level of stress and quality of sleep among newlineadolescents in various settings. Limitations: 1.Sample of the study included only from selected schools newlineSatisfaction of subject would have been measured. newlineIt was not possible to examine other factors affecting sleep such as alertnesspromoting newlinebehaviors such as caffeine and nicotine use newlineThe investigator had constraints in administering the intervention to the newlinestudent because of class test. newline There can be information bias present as self reported questionnaire type is newlineused. newline newline
