Abstract: | The present study was carried out by the Researcher with a distinct vision about the future citizens of our country the present adolescent population. Adolescent period is physiologically geared to make up with the growth spurt ,increased stress due to transition from child to adult hood which poses a great risk for many complications .Obesity and overweight is considered as one of the top 10 risk factor which is solely responsible as the leading cause of preventable death .The steep and consistent rise in adolescent obesity is considered as a real challenge particularly for a developing nation like India. Suggestions for Future Study: A similar study may be replicated with randomization in selection of larger sample size. so that homogeneity can still be established. A similar comparative study can be conducted between the adolescents residing in rural and urban schools. Similar study could be conducted in community settings. Conclusion: The results of the present study revealed that, there was a statistically significant difference found in the experimental group receiving interventional package among adolescents. Effectiveness was found more among overweight adolescents than obese adolescents. The mean score of interventional package was found to have significant difference in terms of knowledge, wellbeing. BMI and WHR which clearly proves that as per the recommendations given by WHO, to implement strategies that will cause change in knowledge regarding to lifestyle modification and improved physical activity through yoga create change in the overall health and wellbeing. newline |
