dc.description.abstract | Since long, providing employment to educated youth has been a subject of substantial research interest in the developed countries of the world. However, this still remains a potential area of research in the developing countries. To explore the employability factors entrenched by the institutes to train their students, this research is proposed by me. The purpose of the present research is to explore the factors responsible for making Computer Applications students, studying in the various institutes in punjab, employable and to explore direct and indirect factors that may prove impactful to tackle problems in their employability. In this respect, throughout the research, focus is given to discover the factors from the student s point of view, academic partner s point of view and corporate partner s point of view. newlineIn this research mixed up the collection of primary and secondary data. The primary data has been taken from different respondents like corporate sector i.e. the stakeholders of institutions academic partners and students. Structured questionnaire was designed to collect data. Both online and offline modes were used to collect data. To get the personal view of these respondents one-to-one interview method was also used. To collect the secondary data, informal interviews, magazines, journals, newspapers, e-magazines and websites of Institutes were explored. To propose model showing direct and indirect factors statistical tools such as ANOVA, factor analysis, multiple step backward regression analysis and structured equation modelling (SEM) were used. newlineThe study indicated that there are important areas to improve overall system of Management and Technology Institutes which obstruct the employability of students studying in these Institutes. Institutes should train students as per industry requirements. It is suggested that whenever a new subject is introduced in BCA/MCA courses, university should organize Faculty Development Programme and faculties of affiliated institutes should be trained to teach these | |
