Abstract: In ancient times, when people started writing on a wood or stone, communication became portable to a limited area only. As civilization advanced various other means of communication were also invented. The printing press is the most remarkable invention in this regard bought about a revolution in communicating in larger groups. The printed word communicated to all those who could read what had been written in the printed material on stones, wood or paper. Today, we have the most sophisticated communication technologies both print and none print. The various means of communications used are printed text, radio, television, video cassette, tape recorders, video text, and computers etc. newlineInformation Technology is affecting us as teachers as individual and as a society. Due to the developments in Information Technology, every field is being affected and as education entertainment, day to day activities, government society etc. today another watching T.V. or reading newspaper or magazine. It is impossible to miss various coverage related to Information Technology-Internet, world wide web, digital T.V., on-line learning, wireless communication, teleconferencing and so on. All these innovations and changes looks disconnected, but still they share a common denominator. Computer and Information Technology has taken place due to information technology. newlineAudio-Visual media are soon used to replace conventional teaching completely. Instead, they are generally used to complement or supplement face to face instruction. No discussion is too needed here on the casual use of audio-visual newlinemedia to enrich teaching. But a review of practical economic and educational arguments for the more substantial and organized use of media in education is needed. newlineMedia have often been used in both formal and non-formal education to attack problems of quantity, quality, and access.
