Abstract: Motivation is an inner drive to behave or act in a certain manner. It s the newlinedifference between waking up before dawn to pound the pavement and lazing around newlinethe house all day . These inner conditions such as wishes, desires, goals, activate to newlinemove in a particular direction in behavior. newlineIn summary, motivation can be defined as the purpose for, or psychological newlinecause of an action. newlineAll the individuals are motivated to fulfill various human needs, which are newlineaccomplished in work situations. In other words, individuals are motivated to work for newlinefulfilling their human needs. These needs belong to two categories. Primary and newlineSecondary. The primary needs are physiological needs which are universal and newlineessential for all human beings, such as hunger, thirst, pain and sleep. Secondary needs newlineinclude social and physiological ones which are more in vogue as they represent needs newlineof the mind and spirit rather than the physical body. It includes security, personal newlinegrowth, achievement, status, autonomy affiliations and so on. newlineThus, motivation is an internal feeling. It refers to those energetic forces within newlineindividuals, which drive them to behave in certain ways and to environmental forces newlinethat trigger their drives. Motivation is either positive or negative or combination. The newlinepositive motivation consists of additional pay, incentives, praise etc offered for newlinesatisfactory performance. While negative motivation consists of reprimands, newlinepunishment and threats of demotion and so on. newlineThe nature of motivation may be described as: newline Motivation is the drive to satisfy a need or objective. It is concerned with goal newlinedirected behavior. newline Motivation is either positive or negative or combination. newline Motivation considers various forces in the individuals and in their surroundings newlinethat feed back to the individuals. newline It is an internal feeling.
