Abstract: This part deals with the Biosystematic study of cestode parasites of freshwater fishes. newlineDuring this investigation 09 new species of Cestode Parasites belongs to two orders newlineviz. Pseudophyllidea, Carus, 1863 and Proteocephalidea Mola, 1928 of two families viz. newlinePtychobothriidae, Luhe, 1902 and Proteocephalidae La, Rue, 1911, and 06 genera are newlinedescribed, viz. Senga orientalis Sp.Nov.; Senga macrobothrium Sp.Nov.; newlinePtychobothrium follicularis Sp.Nov.; Ptychobothrium ovalum Sp.Nov.; newlinePolyonchobothrium microrostrata Sp.Nov.; Gangesia vitellaris Sp.Nov.; Gangesia newlinemicrocirrosa Sp.Nov.; Proteocephalus indica Sp.Nov.; Silurotaenia triangulata newlineSp.Nov. newlineA revised key to species of Ptychobothrium Loennberg, 1889, Proteocephalus newlineWeinland, 1858 and Silurotaenia Nybelin, 1942 with 04 comparative charts of the newlineAbstract newline2 newlinespecies of genus Senga Dollfus, 1934, Gangesia Woodland, 1924, Proteocephalus newlineWeinland, 1858 and Silurotaenia Nybelin, 1942 are also provided showing the newlinedistinguishing morphological and taxometric features. newlineAll the Cestode parasites were collected from host fishes Channa striatus; newlineMastacembelus armatus (Lacepede, 1800); Channa punctata; Mystus seenghala (Sykes newline1839) and Wallago attu (Bleeker, 1851) from Different Collection sites of Nanded newlinedistrict (M.S.) India. newlineSECTION II: TAXONOMY OF PISCEAN TREMATODE PARASITES. newlineThis part deals with morphology and taxometric analysis of digenetic trematode newlineparasites of freshwater fishes. During this investigation 04 trematode species belonging newlineto one order Prosostomata Odhner, 1905 and four families viz. Isoparorchiidea newlinePoche,1926; Azygiidae Odhner, 1911; Maseniidae Yamaguti, 1954; Clinostomidae newlineLuhe,1911of 04 species of genera are described, viz. Isoparorchis hypselobargi newlineBillet,1898; Azygia gigantica Sp.Nov.; Eumasenia spinosum Sp.Nov. and newlineEuclinostomum heterostomum Rudolphi,1809. newlineOne digenetic trematode Isoparorchis hypselobargi Billet,1898 collected from newlineWallago attu (Bleeker, 1851) while three digenetic trematodes Azygia gigantica newlineSp.Nov.; Eumasenia spinosum Sp.Nov. and Euclinostomum heterostomum newlineRudolphi,1809 were collected from Piscean hosts Channa punctata (Bloch.) from newlinedifferent collection sites of Nanded district (M.S.) India. newlineSECTION III: TAXONOMY OF PISCEAN NEMATODE PARASITES. newlineThis part deals with the Bio-systematic study of nematode parasites of newlinefreshwater fishes. During this investigation 02 species of 02 genera belonging to order newlineSpirurida Diesing, 1861 of family Camallanidae Raillet et. Henry, 1915. The two newlinespecimens of nematode reported in this work are as Camallanus tubularis Sp. Nov. and newlineProcamallanus truncatus Sp.Nov. newlineAll the nematode parasites were collected from Piscean host Mastacembelus newlinearmatus Lacepede, 1800 from Loha, Kandhar, Mukhed, Dharmabad, Hadgaon, Mahur, newlineKinwat, Bhokar, Nanded, M.S., India. newlineSECTION IV: DIVERSITY OF HELMINTHS OF FRESHWATER FISHES newlineThis part deals with diversity of Piscean Helminths in relation with geographical newlinedistribution. newlineAbstract newline3 newlineSECTION V: HAEMATOBIOCHEMICAL STUDY newlineThis section deals with observation of haematobiochemical profile in some newlinePiscean host naturally infected with Helminth parasites. Present investigation shows newlinesignificant increase in size of RBC and number of WBC; however significantly lower newlinevalues of RBC, Hb, PCV, MCV in infected as compaired with normal one. newlineSECTION VI : POPULLATION DYNAMICS OF PISCEAN HELMINTHS newlineThis part of thesis consists of population dynamics of Piscean Helminths. newlinePopulation dynamics consist incidence, intensity, density and index of infection of newlinePiscean Helminths during February, 2013 to January, 2015 for period of two years. The newlinepresent study on population dynamics of Piscean helminths shows high incidence, newlineintensity, density and index of infection were reported in Summer followed by Winter newlinewhereas infection was low in monsoon. newlineSECTION VII: BIBLIOGRAPHY newlineAt end of thesis, list of references is given having direct bearing with work. newline
