Abstract: | The present thesis is entitled as Pharmacological and Toxicological evaluation of hepatoprotective potential of Triphala loaded solid lipid nanoparticle .In the present study, selected medicinal plants i.e. newlineThe fruits of Emblica officinalis, Terminalia chebula and Terminalia belerica were collected from sagar (local vendor). The plant was identified, confirmed and authenticated by Dr. Pradeep Tiwari, Department of Botany, Dr. Harisingh Gour Central University, Sagar (M.P.) In the preliminary study, Coarse powder of the Triphala plant was extracted by soxhlet extraction method using pet ether, ethanol and water to extract. The extracts were dried and screened for the presence of various active constituents. For the preliminary assessment, aqueous extract of plant were evaluated hepatotoxicity in rats/mice. newlineIn the present research work Triphala, has been evaluated for liver protection. Along with crude extract and bioactive solid lipid particles has been identified and compared with each other at varied level for liver protection. newlineTriphala is the combination of three fruits i.e(Emblica officinalis, TerminaliachebulaandTerminaliabelerica) was mixed in equal proportion and subjected for aqueous extraction. The yield of aqueous extract were found to be 68.27% w/w. newlinePhytochemical analysis revealed that Triphala contains tannins carbohydrates, glycosides, phenols and flavonoids.Phytosterols and Triterpenoids were found absent. Overall the aqueous extract of Triphala extract exhibited wide varieties of phytoconstituents. newlineThe physical appearance of the aqueous Triphala extract was found to be white to yellowish white characteristics odor crystalline powder. Melting point of aqueous Triphala extract was found to be 250-251oC. newlineSolubility study in different solvents at room temperature revealed that it is freely soluble in methanol, soluble in ethanol, sparingly soluble in PBS (pH 7.4) and insoluble in Distill water. newline |
