Abstract: | Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a critical and prevailing disease throughout the world which leads to a health challenge throughout the world as it is found out to be an independent risk factor for developing to other bacterial infections. DM causes the pancreas to lack the ability to produce the required amount of insulin. When the insulin levels are too low, the blood glucose levels can raise leading to hyperglycemia. In hyperglycemia patients, immunity plays a vital role. Due to low immunity among the DM Type II patients, they are more prone to other disease, bacterial and fungal infections including cardiac, urinary tract, eye, skin and lower respiratory tract infections. TB is one of the imoportant Pulmonary infections caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. newline newlineTuberculosis most commonly affects the lungs. It is one of the risk factor for DM patients, as it is an opportunistic infection. India facing the dual problem of being the prone TB infections along with increase rate of DM and noted to be as the second diabetic capital of the world. newlineA total of 2000 population participated in this study and depending on the symptoms history of family with DM were included and enrolled. Questioner was filled and with the consent of participants, diabetic presences were screened and study was executed from 2013-2017 in different diagnostic centers located within the Warangal district of Telangana state. Random blood glucose test was conducted for all the participants to confirm the positiveness for DM. Off 2000 participants, we were able to detect 659 for DM suspects. All the 659 identified DM suspects were retested and confirmed the DM based upon glucose sugar levels by Fasting Blood Sugar, Post Lunch Blood sugar levels, and HbA1C (for studying and estimating blood glucose levels). Off 500 DM confirmed patients, 270 were (54%) male, 220 were (44%) female and 10 were (2%) children. |
