Abstract: The welfare state government plays an important role in the safeguard and promotion of the social and economic security and well-being of its citizens.The welfare state is viewed as the welfare of the poor.A welfare state also ensures economic management and introduces economic welfare policies.In 21st century, Welfare States have committed themselves to bring about social welfare, especially of those who are socially, economically, physically and mentally challenged in the society or vulnerable sections of the society.Social welfare services for the needy people are on the priority list of the welfare state governments. newlineAfter independence, to tackle the problem of poverty, illiteracy, health problems, girls drop out from schools; different welfare schemes and policies of the central government for rural as well as urban areas are in operation in the state. The necessity for social welfare policies and programmes was very much realized. That s why; The Preamble and the Directive Principles of State Policy make it fully clear that the goal of constitution is to form a welfare and socialist state.The government of India launched several welfare schemes for the well-being of its citizens. Indian government introduced many policies and schemes in the field of health and nutrition, scholarship for women empowerment, the women living in the rural and tribal areas, ex-servicemen, physically handicapped, widows, old age women etc. newlinePunjab is primarily an agrarian state. Punjab has undergone a number of geographical changes from history. It faced numerous socio-economic and human life losses during this time. Different welfare schemes are implemented by the Punjab state government for vulnerable sections of the society. The present study attempts to take conscious glance on food security, women and girls students welfare schemes implemented in Sangrur district and take review whether improvement of beneficiaries is really achieved, whether the beneficiaries get regular aid, whether such assistance facilitate beneficiaries,
