A Study of Sports Infrastructure of Universities of Malwa Region of Punjab

Abstract

The study would be helpful to universities for improvement like infrastructure (Track and field, Outdoor Grounds, Courts, Indoor Courts, Gymnasium Hall, Swimming pools, Velodrome) to provide better facilities for the betterness of the players so that the players make a good positions/result. If the university have good infrastructure then the players give more time to develop skills towards their games. newlineA survey type study has been designed to examine the facilities, organization and administration of physical education programme and sports in Punjab Private and Govt. universities. newlineThe responses obtained from different administrators of four universities were tabulated and item wise tallies given to responses. The frequencies were converted into percentage for the purpose of analysis and an interpretation of data. newlineResponses of Administrators newlineAs per the discussion concluded all the four Universities at the top is Punjabi University, Patiala and Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana is fully satisfied mostly as it aids with under the governments, but while comparing private universities Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo and Sri Guru Granth Sahib World university, Fatehgarh Sahib are mostly satisfied according to the Playing Facilities, Coaching Camps, in giving Incentives and Refreshments .in this only under Swimming pool Facility all universities dissatisfied expect Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana. As providing Coaching Facilities Punjab University, Patiala is excellent but other three universities are good and fair. As newlinev newlineCoaching camps are Organized always by all the four universities. Sri Guru Granth Sahib world University, Fatehgarh Sahib provides superior quality of equipment as compared to the other universities which provides Above Average type of equipment. According to the facilities provided by administrative about Physical Education as subject, Budget as not given poor performance and having hostels for sports persons and physical department all the four universities are strongly agreed,
