A basic Structure of Software Process Improvement Model For Small Corporation

Abstract

Software process improvements are required to increase the newlineproductivity of software companies. Generally, it is the aim to newlineincrease the quality of the produced software and to keep newlinebudget and time. Quality models for software process newlineimprovements were developed in context of large organisations newlineand multi-national companies. It has been shown that Software newlineProcess Improvement efforts in small organizations that are newlinebased on structures which are designed for large organizations newlineoften fail. newline newlineThe main objective is to produce an SPI model that can be used newlineby small software organizations in order to evaluate the own newlinecapacity of delivering high quality or maturity. Purchaser can newlinealso use the model to evaluate small software supplying newlineorganizations. The model is based on parts from established SPI newlinestructures, such as; The Capability Maturity Model for newlineSoftware, Capability Maturity Model Integrated and ISO newline9001:2000. In order to find out what SPI activities in those newlinemodels that are important for small organizations d ifferent newlinephases was conducted. The phases resulted in a prioritization of newlineSPI activities, which represented the base for the new SPI newlinemodel.
